COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Systems staff and people served had their first round of Pfizer vaccine on January 19, 20 and 21. There was an air of excitement, relief and reflection of the people we have lost since the pandemic began. Approximately seven hundred and fifty people (staff and people served) voluntarily signed up to get vaccinated. They were able to get their shots at our two main service centers in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

The second round of shots will be held on February 9, 10 and 11. February 9th and 10th will be based out of Iowa City service center and February 11th will be at the Cedar Rapids service center. Everyone must have signed up already to receive the vaccine and will be assigned a time to receive their shots. Currently, SUI has lost three people we serve to COVID-19. Thirty-three people we serve and one hundred five staff have tested positive. Sixty-eight of our sites have been in quarantine at least once since the outbreak.

Dancing for joy!

While the SUI clinics will be done soon, vaccines will continue to become more available to the community at large. Below are links to some quick videos that answer some of the most common questions people have about the vaccine. We also encourage people to discuss specific concerns with their medical doctor.
