Important Internship Considerations

Though interns will participate in actual facility operations at Systems Unlimited, the internship itself is similar to training programs offered in an educational environment.

The internship experience is for the intern’s benefit.
The intern will not displace regular employees, but rather, will work under close supervision of the existing staff.
Systems Unlimited does not expect to derive immediate advantage from the activities the intern performs.
Interns are not entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship.
Unless otherwise agreed upon with Systems Unlimited, the intern is not entitled to wages for time spent in the internship.

Intern Responsibilities

As the student intern enters the Agency, he or she is expected to assume, as much as possible, the role of a regular staff member.

The responsibilities include:

Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
Adhering to company policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information
Assuming personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities
Maintaining professional relationships with agency employees, individuals served and external stakeholders
Utilizing courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures within the profession
Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the agency setting
Being consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments to the supervisor and faculty coordinator
Providing the faculty coordinator with periodic progress reports
