The Awards Ceremony has been a tradition for many years where we as an agency take time to celebrate the people we serve’s achievements in a formal setting. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the formal event due to continued high community spread of COVID-19.
COVID-19 did not stop us from celebrating everyone’s achievements though. Instead, we got creative and found ways to make this year still memorable. For each of the winners, we made them an individual video with staff and family members stating how proud they are of that person for their achievement. Many of the winners commented on how much they loved their videos.
Then on October 2nd, we had a “Congratulations” parade where staff got in their cars and drove by the home of the winners with signs in their windows. Each winner received their award by Casey Westhoff as well as balloons and flowers. While this year looked different, we were excited to try a different format and start some new traditions. Thank you to all the family and staff that participated in making the event special for the people we serve. Congratulations to all of our 2020 Milestone Award Winners!
