A number of people we serve and Systems staff will be participating in Hill Day at the Iowa State Capitol, joining fellow advocates from across the state to elevate the voices of Iowans with disabilities and the providers who support them. Together, we’ll connect with legislators, share real stories, and advocate for policies that strengthen community-based services and ensure people have the support they need to live full, meaningful lives.
One of the key priorities we’ll be championing is the Work Without Worry bill. This legislation is focused on removing barriers that can discourage people with disabilities from pursuing employment. By advancing Work Without Worry, we are advocating for policies that make it possible for individuals to work, earn income, and build independence without risking the services they rely on.
When: Monday, March 16th
Where: Iowa State Capitol
Hill Day is an invite-only event that brings providers, self-advocates, and partners together in a unified effort to support meaningful policy change.
