This past summer thirty-seven homes asked for assistance with deep cleaning, pulling weeds and removing broken items for our Caring In Action Days. We had over fifty volunteers between staff and community members to cover all service areas.
While it was hard work, it was very rewarding to see the homes after the clean ups. Many people served were able to use spaces like their garages or basements that were unusable prior to the clean out. One group of men had decided that they were going to convert their now open garage to a ‘man cave’ complete with movies and music.
We want to give a big thank you to all our staff and community members that assisted us. We had many staff that signed up for more than one area and several loaned us their vehicles to haul unwanted items to the dump. This wouldn’t have been possible without all of your assistance.
