BHS Clinical Team

The Systems Unlimited Clinical Team supports people we serve who have medical, behavioral, and mental health needs.

“We start where the person is at,” stated Julie Doran Clark, the Clinical Director. “It is about a creative approach for individualized care.”

The team has a wide range of specialties. Julie is a LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker) as well as a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). She and Nancy Whitaker (LISW) provide therapy to people we serve, as well as to others with mental health needs in the community. Nancy can also provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to help with diagnoses such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Anxiety. When it comes to therapy, it is really important that the person understands what therapy is and is willing to be an active participant.  Julie and Nancy also facilitate FBA (Functional Behavior Assessment) meetings and write BMH (Behavior Mental Health) plans to assist staff in supporting the people we serve effectively.

There are three Clinical Support Professionals (CSPs) on the Clinical Team. Rachael Miller, Baryd Breon-Drish, and Brandon Ludwig have a wide range of responsibilities, including drafting and training staff on BMH plans, coordinating three Behavior Tech sites, and supporting staff to work effectively with people served across the agency. Each CSP has years of experience supporting people with behavioral and/or mental health needs.

Sara Meade (LPN) is the nurse on staff.  Sara supports people served who have specialized medical cares, including seizures, diabetic cares, catheters, feeding tubes, etc.  Sara writes medical care plans and trains staff on these cares.  She is an advocate when someone served is hospitalized and works with their medical team to ensure the best care.  She is also available to staff and people served to answer questions as needed.

The Clinical Team has a wide variety of trainings that they can provide for staff, including trainings on Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mental Health 101, dementia, Borderline Personality Disorder, etc.  These trainings assist staff with feeling more comfortable and confident when working with people served with behavioral or mental health challenges.  Using a creative and individualized approach, they help Systems provide services to people served who may otherwise not have the chance to live in their community of choice.
