Join us at the 4th Annual Eastside Welcome Weekend!

Welcoming Week is a special annual celebration of diversity and belonging. It brings communities together with the shared goal of being places where everyone feels valued, included, and at home including immigrants and newcomers. Launched in 2012 by Welcoming America and its members, Welcome Week into a national event that fosters a sense of belonging and community-wide connection.

This year, from September 11–13, 2026, IC Compassion will host Iowa City’s Eastside Welcome Weekend. This will be a series of fun events in celebration of this national event for the fourth year. Systems Unlimited is honored to be part of the celebration and will have a booth on Sunday, September 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Iowa City’s Welcome Weekend is a family-friendly cultural event that celebrates diversity while encouraging welcome, belonging, and unity throughout our community. Guests can enjoy a free community meal, art and cultural displays, cultural food samples, business vendors, performances, and plenty of fun activities for kids—including a balloon animal artist! We hope you’ll stop by the Systems Unlimited booth, say hello, and enter for a chance to win a prize.
