Merger preparations continue this week. Systems Unlimited staff are excited to present new hire orientation training to Linnhaven staff the next two weeks. Orientation sessions are planned for 5/16, 5/17, 5/24 and 5/25 at 10am at the Marion Christian Church.

Is Systems Unlimited a non profit agency or a for profit agency?
Systems Unlimited is a non profit agency.

What will change?
The name of the agency serving people and employing staff will change to Systems Unlimited, Inc. on July 1, 2017.

What won’t change?
The staff at Linnhaven will remain in their current roles.
The people served will have the same staff and will live in the same homes.
Both the Linnhaven and Systems Unlimited offices in Cedar Rapids will remain the same for now.

Will there be parent nights?
Systems Unlimited plans to hold a parent’s night on a quarterly basis.

Will people served by Linnhaven be able to participate in Systems Unlimited Day Habilitation services in Cedar Rapids?
The Systems Unlimited Day Habilitation services in Cedar Rapids currently have a waiting list. Openings will be available as room and staff become available.

What services are offered by Systems Unlimited?
Systems Unlimited has three program divisions and has offices in seven counties.

One of the divisions of Systems Unlimited is the Supported Community Living Program (SCL). This division provides residential services at 75 locations. These homes include primarily three and four people in each home. Individuals are supported according to their needs identified in their Individual Service Plans. For some individuals this means 24/7 care and others have independent time alone in the community.

SCL also provides hourly services for individuals living independently or at home with their family. Hourly supports are provided to allow these members to continue to live independently or with their family. The SCL division has offices and provides services in Johnson, Linn, Jones, Iowa, Muscatine, Cedar, and Washington counties.
The Employment Systems (ES) programs serves people with disabilities in Johnson and Linn counties and provides supported employment for individuals. Training and job coaching is available until the member can perform their responsibilities independently.

ES also provides Day Habilitation services which are designed to help individuals to optimize their person and social competency to live successfully in the community. Each individual has a personalized plan that focuses on enabling or maintaining intellectual functioning, physical and emotional health, language and communication, cognitive functioning, socialization and community integration, functional skill development, behavior management, and self-advocacy.

Family Systems Therapy and Counseling Services (FSTCS) are both office based and school based mental health services. The mental health services are provided in Johnson, Linn, and Washington counties. FSTCS has school based agreements with the school districts of Iowa City, College Community, Linn Mar, Marion and Washington. FSTCS provide mental health services to all ages of individuals and can assist in family, group, couples, and marriage therapy.
