September 20, 2009 - This summer we continued the tradition of the annual Adventureland trip.  Over the years our organization has grown, changed and evolved but the trip to Adventureland is always a constant.   That being said, the trip itself is also in flux.  This annual trip has presented itself in many different ways over the years.  Changing between individual trips, cluster gatherings, house excursions and friends-only events all utilizing a range of transportation from charter buses, mini-vans to aging 15-pasenger vans and recently school buses.

The fifty-five plus individuals that attended this year were treated with a nice late summer day.  The weather was somewhat cloudy all day which kept the temperature comfortable and the breeze fresh.  Since it was late in the season and on a Sunday we were also treated to short lines and minimal crowding.  For some it was a new found joy to experience being able to go twice in a row on the same ride without having to get back in line.  This is one of the great perks of going to Adventureland in the off season.

Thanks to the many generous donations in the last six months we were able to offer a trip to Adventureland completely free to many of the individuals.  All of which would not be attending if it were not for the Steve Smith “Keep On Moving” Memorial fund.
