21st Annual Golf Classic

You can be a part of the 21st Annual Systems Unlimited Golf Classic on May 10, 2010. The event will be held at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City. There are spots available for both golfers and sponsors.

The golf tournament is our largest annual fundraiser. Last year’s event was attended by over 140 area business and community leaders. In total, we were able to raise over $18,000 to improve the lives of the people we serve. We hope to have an equally successful Golf Classic this year.

2010 Snowflakes and Strings Wine Gala

Systems Unlimited, Inc. will hold its 5th Annual Snowflakes and Strings Wine Gala and Silent Auction on Friday, February 5th from 7-10pm. The event will once again be held at hotelVetro in downtown Iowa City. In addition to wine, there will be live music and food. Everyone’s favorite chocolate fountain as well as hors d’oeuvres will be catered by HotelVetro. The Marion Chamber Trio will provide the music from 7-9pm. The silent auction will feature a variety of goods and services perfect for Valentine’s day gifting. These include wine and other gift baskets, weekend getaways, artwork, sporting event tickets, and many other items.

Systems Unlimited night at Pizza Ranch!

Thank you all that attended the fundraiser at Pizza Ranch. We had a huge turnout of both people served and employees of Systems Unlimited. All tallied the night raised $400 for the Steve Smith “Keep On Moving” Memorial Fund which the people we serve will see a direct benefit in the upcoming Adventureland Trip (date soon to be announced). Big thanks goes to Megan McCannon for organizing the partnership with Pizza Ranch and also to my volunteers that helped bus tables: Laura Kelly, Jake Yezek, Brooke Schlabaugh, and Lonna Blodgett.

2009 Awards Ceremony

Be sure to turn in your RSVP for the 2009 Awards Ceremony that will be on September 25th at the Coralville Holiday Inn & Conference Center. Invitations will be arriving soon!

Seating will begin at 7pm, with the event beginning at 7:30pm. Dessert will be served and there will be a dance from 9pm-10pm. This year’s event will once again be free for anyone who would like to attend.

Milestone awards will be presented to Ray Curl, Chad Smith, Ariel Dickerson, Gloria Gomez, Amie Huber, Steven Waller, Stephen Thomas, Patty Hartwig, Sara Schneider, Craig Weiss, Lindsey Warner, and Sean Zirtzman, Gabe Coates, Dalton Anderson, Kaycee Ritter, Vance Clayton, and Cynthia Holcomb.

Fareway will be receiving the Employer of the Year Award, Studio 13 will receive the Community Advocacy Award, Rob McComas is this year’s Professional of the Year, and Panchero’s will receive the Business Recognition Award. Congratulations everyone!

Wine Gala

Our other large annual fundraiser is the Snowflakes and Strings Wine Gala. Last years wine tasting event was held on February 6, 2009 at hotelVetro in downtown Iowa City. People are able to enjoy fine music, food, and wine while supporting Systems.
