Descriptions of Remedial Services

Remedial services are skill building interventions that ameliorate behaviors and symptoms associated with a psychological disorder that has been assessed and diagnosed by a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts. The Remedial Service Provider develops an implementation treatment plan outlining interventions consistent with the treatment recommended by the LPHA.

96152 Health and behavior intervention -Interventions used to modify the psychological behavioral, emotional, cognitive and social factors affecting the individuals functioning. interventions may include the following skills for effective functioning with family, peers and community: Conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills, social skills, interpersonal relationship skills and communication skills to minimize or eliminate psychological barriers to effectively managing symptoms associated with a psychological disorder in an age appropriate manner. Individual 15 mins.
       
96153 Health and behavior intervention interventions used to modify the psychological behavioral, emotional, cognitive and social factors affecting the individuals functioning. Group services focus on the functional skill needs of individual members and may include the following skills for effective functioning with family, peers and community: Conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills, social skills, interpersonal relationship skills and communication skills to minimize or eliminate psychological barriers to effectively managing symptoms associated with a psychological disorder in an age appropriate manner. Group 15 mins.
       
96154 Health and behavior intervention -Interventions used to enhance the family's ability to effectively interact with the child in such a way to support the individuals functioning in the home and community and to assist in the management of psychological, behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and social factors affecting the individuals functioning. Services may include the following skills for effective functioning with family, peers and community: Conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills, social skills, interpersonal relationship skills and communication skills to minimize or eliminate psychological barriers to effectively managing symptoms associated with a psychological disorder in an age appropriate manner. Family 15 mins.
       
H2011 Crisis Intervention -Interventions provided as outlined in a written treatment plan to deescalate situations in which a risk to self, others or property exits. SerVices assist the child regain self-control and re-establish effective management of behavioral symptoms associated with a psychological disorder in an age appropriate manner. Individual 15 mins.

H2014 Skills training and Development -Interventions to enhance independent living, social and communication skills that minimize or eliminate psychological barriers to effectively managing symptoms associated with a psychological disorder and maximizes individual's ability to live and participate in the community. Interventions may include the following skills for effective functioning with family, peers and community: Communication skills, conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills, social skills, interpersonal relationship skills and employment related skills. Individual 15 mins.

Excluded services include:

Music appreciation and relaxation, craft skill training, cooking classes, individual social activities, socialization in a group setting, general conversation, general educational activities, games - including bingo games, sports, entertainment - leisure activities, excursions -including shopping outing - even when used to reduce psychological symptoms, teaching grooming skills, teaching self-care skills, teaching patient to follow directives, exercise programs - even when designed to reduce psychological symptoms, nutrition/weight loss instruction.
