Trent Heck, LMSW, C-ACYFSW Trent graduated from Coe College with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology and from the University of Iowa School of Social Work with a master’s of Social Work degree. He is a Certified-Advanced Child, Youth, and Family Social Worker (C-ACYFSW) who specializes in working with the complex mental health and social needs of children, adolescents, and their families that have a combination of multiple complex strengths and needs unique to very close family relationships. Trent is able to provide both therapy and remedial treatment services to children, teens, adults, and families.

Beth Houseal, LISW Beth received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa. Beth has worked for Family Systems for five years providing therapy and LPHA assessments. She provides services for children (eight years and older), adults, families, and couples. Beth helps clients find effective solutions for life's challenges using a client-centered approach incorporating CCBT, CBT, Relational Family Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her areas of interest include the treatment of anxiety, PTSD, depression, life transition and adjustment issues such as divorce or career change, grief/loss issues, trauma and relational issues

Kara Houser, LISW Kara received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and her master’s in Social Work from St. Ambrose University. Kara has worked as a family therapist for the past eight years providing an array of services including parenting; child welfare; adoption services; work with families and children in foster care; individual therapy to children, adolescents, and families; and in the schools providing individual therapy for children. Kara provides services for children ages four and up and with families, couples, and adults. She chooses from a variety of therapeutic approaches, which include play therapy techniques as well as cognitive behavioral, family systems, narrative, and solution-focused approaches.

Emily Blaedel Johnson, LMSW Emily graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and from the University of Iowa with a Master of Social Work. Emily has experience in conducting evaluations and providing therapy and Behavior and Health Intervention Services for children, adolescents, and families. She has worked primarily in the school setting, treating a wide range of issues including behavior problems, trauma, adjustment issues, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, and attention issues. Emily uses a number of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy in order to help her clients effectively deal with life stressors and manage mental health symptoms.

Cynthia Prodzinski, LMHC, AT, NCC Cynthia is a therapist and clinical supervisor for Family Systems, Inc. She has a dual master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and nearly 30 years of experience in the counseling and therapy field. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc., has training and experience in Chemical Dependency Counseling, Play Therapy, Sand Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and provides LPHA Assessments. Her experience is diverse and includes working with people of all ages, starting at age four, on a variety of issues including trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.
