Employment Systems - Adult Day Services

As an alternative or supplement to vocational services, individuals may choose to receive Adult Day Services.

This program is designed to interweave personal, social and community activities, according to the goals and desires of each individual. The intent of these non-vocational services is to provide a safe, caring and stimulating atmosphere to encourage persons with disabilities to participate in activities that contribute to the person's independence and quality of life.

Employment Systems staff provide a range of in house and community activities including:

  • Music - both listening and participation
  • Art - including drawing, painting, computer aided art, leather work and other crafts.
  • Dramatic reading
  • Exercise - ranging from low-impact stretching to swimming at area pools
  • Bingo and other games
  • Social groups such as Coffee Clubs, etc.
  • Trips to area attractions and community resources, such as the library, a pottery studio, bowling alley, IMAX theater, museums, and other local events

Each days activities are designed to reflect the input and interests of those served and to promote participation by all.

Services are also available to assist individuals with the development of communication skills, daily living skills, and relationship building. When needed or requested, Employment Systems staff will help develop and provide service based on individualized plans for behavioral supports, sensory integration, and/or personal care needs.
