Recruitment procedure

Systems Unlimited intends to recruit, hire and place applicants on the basis of the applicants’ relative knowledge, skills, and abilities. The decision to employ an applicant will be based solely on the individual’s qualifications for a particular position along with other requisite job skills. Minimum qualifications shall be specified in the job description.

Q: Where can I find a list of available job openings?

Q: How do I apply for a position?

A: Submit applications online or stop by the office.

Q: What can I expect during the hiring process?

A: The hiring specialist meets with staff managers on a weekly basis to compare candidate’s availability and qualifications with the current openings at the agency. If there is an open position that matches candidate’s availability and qualifications, HR staff run a background check.Once the background check is complete, the hiring specialist will contact the applicant to make the job offer.  The candidate accepts the offer and becomes a new hire. The hiring specialist will sign them up for new hire training and paperwork. For more information please read our Hiring Procedure.

Q: How long is the typical application process?

A: The application process is contingent on several factors including background clearance, possible TB/physical site placement, and Philosophy class. It can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

Q: How long are applications kept on file?

A: Applications will be kept on file for one year.

Q: Are there physical requirements for applying?

A: The physical ability to assist in lifting consumers may be required for some assignments.

Q: What does a background investigation entail?

A: All applicants are required to complete a background screening prior to hire. HR staff will run a Criminal background check, and checks abuse registries. If the background checks indicate any past convictions or founded abuse charges, then the DHS evaluation must be approved prior to employment.

Q: What type of interview should I expect?

A: Applicants are invited for a structured, group interview conducted with behavior based questions. Interviews are about 90 minutes in length and contain written and verbal portions.

Q: What constitutes full time and part time status?

A: Full time status employees are guaranteed at least 37.5 hours per week and are eligible for benefits. Part time employees can work up to 40 hours per week but are not eligible for benefits.
